Do I look pale?

It's time to go backwards again and look at previous happenings. Last monday we were in Duisburg and were gonna star in a local TV show called Studio 47. This TV station has about 20000 viewers we were told. We get to the studio and release a sigh of release when we notice that it looks rather good. They tell us we are gonna play one song 45min. into the show then have a short interview and also end the program with a song. They didn't have too much equipment so we couldn't do the full band. We decided to play like we did in Leipzig, with me on a suitcase but this time Henrik played acoustic also. We decided for the songs Imaginary Friend and Teen Avenger (a new song) to be our face out to the masses. Fine. We start rigging up and testing sounds. Gotta go now. Will follow this up since there's alooot to say about this!

Ok I'm back...
So we start soundchecking but it doesnt go so well. Their tiny studio can't really  deal with our two guitars, a bass and two microphones! So they start solding chords together (with sweaty forheads! The program starts in fifteen minutes! Hahaha), doesn't help. I tiny microphone pops up and finally there's something called sound... The tell us we can rehearse in the breaks. Sure. We do and it sems to be ok and they talk alot of german and we play our first song. Afterwards there's a small interview and I make a total ass of myself studdering when she starts talking and asks me why we sing in english. I answer very uncertain "to get closer to our idols?". WHAT??? Fuckin moron!!! Anyway the show goes on and in the end we play Teen Avenger. The playing was fine by the way, no worries... And they tell us we can get a dvd of it the next day if we want to (of course we want to!!! Yaay!!!). The next day we get the dvd and I must say it's maybe the funniest thing I have seen! The mistakes are falling like heavy rain! People are running infront of the camera, the host says out loud that he look pale and "POOF" some kind of filter goes on and suddenly he's got more colour! The female host suddenly turns black and white cause Jonas saw a camera man accidently pull out a cable. But the best thing was that there was an pre-recorded interview with some lady and imagine how we laughed when in the middle of her interview you suddenly start hearing us soundchecking and eventually play a song!!! This might be hard to understand by reading about it but send us some money and you can get the whole thing on DVD.

Smoke and Highways to Hell

Ok. Haven't been writing that much the last days. Much has happened and I haven't had the time. I start with yesterday for now. Yesterday we were in Dortmund and played at a really good place called The Happy Happy Ding Dong. A small but cool bar in nice black and red colours. They even had a platinum plack of Dark Side of the Moon hanging on the wall. The staff was very professional and we had our best reception since Paderborn, so thumbs up for Ding Dong! The gig was gonna go off pretty early compared to our previous gigs cause it had to be quiet at ten. We had a really nice backstage and were really pepped (in lack of a better word) and when we finally went out to play there was lots of people and a very good looking stage with cool lightings and smoke and even a stroboscope (we've noticed that they quite often have stuff like that here). The sound was brilliant and we did a great show. At least I had a great time and I must say that we've become a quite tight and professional group! We got to play two encores (extranummer, pappa) and we sold many CDs afterwards (Adam tried to pass the hat but people just looked at him like he was weird! Ha ha ha). And when we got off the stage there was a big surprise. Vera our supporter from Paderborn was in the audience! Our first stalker! Awesome! ;-)
Ok. Gotta go! Haltern is waiting!

Rubiks Cube

03/12/07 01.22

We are very tired today. Played at a place called Cube yesterday in Paderborn. A very cozy little town. The Cube was a cool alternative indie/electro club that opened at 23.00 and closed at 05.00 (Yaaay!). We did one of our best gigs ever but the audience was for the first time in Germany very "Stockholmish", a bit reserved. But they loosened up after a while. We got really taken care of by the place, which, too bad, is'nt very common. We had our own personal supporter whos name was Vera. Very nice girl, thanks for everything Vera! After the gig there was party (of course) and we all came to our hotell early morning (I even came home as late as 9.00, got to sleep 2 hours...urk).

The day after we took a stroll through the city to find a breakfast place and wait for Tobias to find us because he was so tired so he had asked the hotell staff to sleep one hour more. Of course his cell phone had died so we didn't really know if he was gonna show up. On their way home the night before Jonas and Henrik had got lost and had to take a cab to the hotell so jonas had slept so heavy that when Tobias and Adam came home Adam couldn't get in the room (he was sharing room with Jonas) so he had to sleep on the floor in Tobias and Henriks room. Finally Tobias came and we went home and I slept all the way.

Trés Bien! (or, Merde!)

Parle vous Anglais?
Puh... Back from a side-trip of the tour. Since we found ourselves with three days off and Tobias went home to take care of some stuff, we (Jonas, Henrik, Adam, Fredrik) decided to go to Paris to see Woven Hand. So on thursday morning we dropped off Tobias at the airport (again) and headed for the Dutch border. And so we cirkled down through Holland, over to Belgium and finally France. We got pulled over by the border police (of course) since the riots in Paris (wich we had just heard about two nights ago in a pub quiz!) had blossomed again. We declared that we were nice guys and headed on for Montmartre where we were gonna see the gig and spend the night. We had gotten a contact-person in Paris through Adam. His name was Eriq, was a swede, but had lived in Paris for ten years. Buzzed on Paris and very small expensive beers we went to see the show which was fantastic! Afterwards we went to a really crappy bar. Playing at the bar was maybe one of the worst bands/artist we've ever had seen. It was this guy called Pierre Carré who looked 80 years old and had a haircut taken straight out of a David Lynch movie!!! So we went to another bar which was much better and here is where our storys start to differ. I met two girls who were talking about a big club called The Rex so I went with them and hrm... "danced". I came home early morning to our awfully worn down hotell and heard that the other guys had been in a harsh argument about our rooms with the portier. He thought they were gonna book new rooms and took it so far (in french of course) that Adam had started to use a loud agressive voice! Well, the place looked like shit anyway so it was nice to be kind of drunk when you went to sleep. And I am tired now too so I'll write more tomorrow...

Tručrker Cleavage

28/11/07 19:07

So we’re back in Duisburg!
Played at a really cool punk club last night in Chemnitz. Punk, but clean and thought through. Same deal as many other places in Germany, you play and someone pass a hat around and also free beer!!! They also provided us a place to sleep. A really punky garage/bedroom with posters and graffiti all over. GREAT! I was gonna tag the place with our logo but noticed after a while (standing on the back of a couch) that I had spelled it “Trucrker Cleavage” and started thinking about how to solve the problem. I was thinking about drawing arrows to fix it but then Tobias came with the idea to put a cirkumplex over the first “C” to give it a “Tjeckoslovakian feel” (Tručrker Cleavage). I did that but still wanted to excuse myself so I decided to write this in a box underneath: “Sorry, I was druk!”. Total failure...
Anyway, the gig went well and the next day we started driving at 9.20 in the morning to get Tobias to the airport. We have a couple of day off now so Tobias decided to go home to his new apartment to decorate...yes, weird, I know. The rest of us plan to go to Paris to see Woven Hand, but more of that later.
Of course we managed to miss Tobias flight so now we’re all in Duisburg again thinking about going out to eat and have some beers.

See you not / Fredrik
